Application
Spheriglass® is used in the flooring industry (typically epoxy resin and polyurethane floors) to improve the physical characteristics of the floor.
Problem Encountered
While resin floors provide a cost effective method of flooring their inherent physical characteristics such as slipperiness, lack of chemical resistance, and softness can be problematic.
Solution Provided
When Spheriglass® is combined with the resin, the flooring's chemical resistance is improved do to the glass beads' inert nature. Also the physical characteristics of glass microspheres provide a type of anti-skid media within the floor. As glass is much harder than resin the hardness of the flooring is increased thus improving the wear resistance of the floor.
